Can Eating Certain Foods Boost Your Metabolism?

It is alleged that when you consume certain foods, you have  a higher chance of experiencing weight loss as they will aid you to burn calories faster. In supposition ,you consume these foods and your resting metabolic rate increases.

Foods such as spices like chillies, green tea, lemo are among those commonly acclaimed to provide the stated benefits.Certain products including supplements may also declare such benefits. However, are these accurate-based findings or just claims?

A high metabolism may translate to the increased probability of one losing weight because the food consumed is broken down faster. However, this does not insinuate that with a slower metabolism , you cannot lose weight. You still can achieve weight loss by  creating a calorie deficit. It’s just that with a higher metabolism, it could be faster. But can you contribute a role to increasing your metabolism, consecutively enhancing your probability to shed some weight?

Advisably, instead of choosing specific foods because they may offer you with a particular benefit , opt to prioritize diet quality for more sustainable results. An inclusive diet with abundant nutrients from fibre, protein, fruits, nuts, vegetables, whole grains,  legumes etc will sustain a proper weight  and preserve nutrition status. This alongside, a well-planned exercise plan can contribute to an increase in lean muscle mass, which in turn can facilitate a faster metabolism.
