Sink: It is the cleaning up area, where the washing of utensils takes place. You can use a sink sieve to prevent food from moving through the drain. Do no pour oil or fats through the sink drain to avoid blockage especially if cold water flows through. Use mild abrasive materials to remove stains, and pour hot water after you are done with cleaning. Remove any solid materials after you are done with cleaning to prevent blockage of pipe.
Refrigerator: It is utilized in the storage of food. Ensure that the door remains closed firmly when not picking a food item. If not in use and not connected to socket, open all doors to allow air flow. When cleaning ,first plug out from the socket, then defrost to remove the ice before removing al food items. Then wash with warm soapy water using soft cloth, and then rinse out. Avoid the use of abrasive materials when cleaning .Remove any foods you suspect to almost spoil to avoid odour that may affect other foods contained. Allow food to cool before putting into refrigerator to prevent shocking from takin place.
Gas cooker-Used for cooking, including baking, grilling and roasting. Using a dry cloth or brush , remove food particles off the gas surface. Clean using mild detergents to remove stains. Use warm soapy water to clean, and steel wool to scrub around the burner caps. Wash the burner caps and grates aside with warm soapy water, and dry them with a cloth then place them back on the gas surface.
Micro-wave-for warming /heating food. You should use the applicable containers, usually of ceramic or glass materials unless otherwise stated in the manual. Do not warm any foods if the microwave door is damaged as this can cause injury and potential fire hazards. Ensure that regular inspection is conducted to facilitate proper function. Do not use while empty , and switch off and unplug hen not in use.
As for other electrical appliances such as mixers, food processors, blenders etc cleaning should be done accordingly. The instructions on the manual should be followed to provide guidance on how to better handle the equipment. After their use, they should be unplugged from the socket and proper cleaning done.
