How To Ensure Safety In Your Kitchen

Kitchen safety is essential due to the risks likely to occur that can cause injury or fire hazards. It is therefore important for you to integrate various safety measures to reduce risk.

  • Ensure that you unplug cooking appliances when not in use. Electric chords should be kept away from water or other liquids.
  • Electric switches should be fixed by an electrician when they are damaged.
  • Do not let  pan or cooking pot handles stick out. It’s easy for you to spill the food contents unknowingly, and these can cause burns if food is hot.
  • Use safety items when preparing foods, i.e. when lifting hot pans and pots use gloves.
  • Broken dishes should be disposed off. These include even the chipped or cracked glass items.
  • Clean up any spillage or dropped foods immediately. Pick up any objects from the floor to avoid falling.
  • When using hot oil, you should handle with care.
  • Store cleaning solutions away from foods to avoid food contamination.
